The scene opens up at a local gym in Denver. Xavier, apparently looking more ripped than usual is seen in the middle of one of his reps when a UHW journalist appears.
Um, excuse me Xavier? Do you have a minute?
Xavier initially ignores the journalist at first but relents and puts down the weights, facing him.
What is it?
Tyler Cross issued a challenge to you after the triple threat match, stating you're not on his level. What are-
My thoughts on someone who thinks that I'm not on his level? Since do I need to measure myself up to someone's standards who are nowhere NEAR mine? I did NOT get to where I am today just because some dim-wit f***** thinks he's got my number or thinks he's better than me. The Machine isn't just some catchy moniker. It is who I am on the inside and out. The fact he just so happens to be on the wrong side of this is rather unfortunate.
Do you think Tyler won't be able to wrestle to your caliber?
Try and insinuate that I said something when I clearly didn't say anything and this interview is over. Tyler is an interesting case. I'll need to study him a bit more in order to get me a more accurate game on how to handle him.
Do you think Tyler will call for help?
Don't know and don't care. It don't matter if he comes to ring solo or brings a friend. Makes no difference because when it's all said and done, Tyler will feel a Machine Meltdown. Now if you'll excuse me...
Without another word, Xavier picks up his stuff and leaves the gym.
So Xavier, you're meeting Tyler Cross in the ring one on one. What are your thoughts?
These were the words of a local journalist who just so happened to catch Xavier Pendragon leaving a Starbucks, sippin on a coffee.
My thoughts on a man who spent the majority of the last match we were in together pretty much sucker punching me and him thinking that I'm not even on his level? Let's get one thing f****** straight right f****** now. The fact that he decided to sucker punch me during our last encounter instead of facing me like a f****** man pisses me dafuq off. That pretty much tells me that you pretty heavily rely on sneak attacks and hope that his opponent doesn't catch onto his little game and therefore he cheats a win to get ahead. If he thinks that I won't be prepared to not deal with his bulls***, then he is in for a rude awakening.
But what if Tyler brings someone to the ring with him? What will you do then?
Then I guess he's more of a punk b**** than I thought he was. Let's get one thing straight. I have never asked anyone to come down to the ring to help me fight my battles. Never have and never will. People choose to assist me on their own volition and if they do so, I'm not gonna stop them from doing so. But know this, whoever steps in the ring with me, they're not just in a wrestling match, they're in for a war. Since I decided to return to the squared circle, these younger pencil neck geeks think that just because I'm older now that they'll get an easy win over me. Come time for Blood Zone, Tyler will see how wrong he is. Si vis pacem para bellum.
Um, what did you say?
That my dear boy, was Latin stating "if you want peace then prepare for war"
Without another word, Xavier gets up from his chair, throws his jacket on and leaves. The camera pans to the journalist, currently processing Xavier's words. The sound of a motorcycle is heard speeding away as the scene fades...
